This day is nothing short of an epic for Philippine Basketball. No one wanted to miss a beat. Everyone was aware that a 10-point lead could disappear in one switch of a channel, and vise-versa.
And their feelings are that intense too, they wanted to tweet and status each crucial play.
So I thought of putting the best tweets/comments/status message relating to what had transpired since 5 P.M. In case you were too busy to wait if Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona will sell you his kajillion peso condo unit, or too concerned about the Internet crashing down because of SOPA / PIPA, here's what happened:
5:00 PM - Broadcast starts for a couple of Game 7 semifinals. GAME 7! TWO GAME 7s! This is more rare than a Marian Rivera wardrobe malfunction!
7:23 PM - Powerade Tigers booked the first ticket to The Finals (and to Digos, Davao del Sur). POWERADE TIGERS and THE FINALS! When was the last time you saw these words in the same sentence together and being this one a fact? NO! NONE! NEVER!
9:31 PM - Alex Cabagnot missed a 50-ft prayer that would have won the game and the series for them. Talk 'n Text won against Petron 92-91. 92-91! Have you seen a Game 7 with that kind of final score???
Let's just get to the post proper. Random comments. Random tweets. My own tweets might be included. Hangga't sinisipag pa ako. Let's do this after the jump break. GO!

Rain or Shine starting five: Uyloan, Quina...
-Wait, what? Jonathan Uyloan is STARTING! WOW! This might be a sign. A sign that makes me believe that Gilbert Lao will score today! (Nothing against Uyloan. In fact, he's a pretty good player. With Lao... yeah, I have a paragraph or two for him, but not now.)
Erwin Garcia comment of PBAonAKTV Official Fanpage:
powerade and talk n text sa finals..... gandang laro yan....
- a first documented prediction of the finals match-up. I had it wrong. I picked the losers two weeks ago.

belga and antonio exchanging baskets. pow stil leads 29-20
cruz hits a long 2 then belga hustles his way inside. 33-22 pow
- It's nice to see for Powerade that you see the names of Wil Antonio and Celino Cruz making baskets in this game. They were all missing back in Game 6.
PBAonAKTV Official Fanpage:
David drains trey, but Buenafe hits quickly; Powerade ahead, 36-24
- I was not watching this game. I was on my way home when the first game is ongoing. I was just following everything through my Zero Facebook. But when I saw this stat, it just made me say "KAPANG!!!"
Jhustin Paule comment on PBAonAKTV Official Fanpage:
pa2tyin na ng ros ang powerade pnay f1 ang col
- Ang morbid naman. Hindi naman papatayin, sasaktan lang muna.
@pbaconnect on Twitter:
- A small group of people (including me) agreed to call Cuneta Astrodome as "Punyeta Astrodome." So replacing the name and making it "punong-puno ang punyeta..." makes it just fine. Fine is an understatement. Perfect.
PBAonAKTV Official Fanpage:
David attacks and scores; 89-71, Powerade
- KAPANG!
a comment on that post by Ian Jophet Martija:
EAT YOUR PRIDE ROS FANS! :)) sa busina lang kayo magaling talaga :)) :)) :)) booooboooo :D :))
- Dude might be a Rain-or-Shine hater, but I'm quite sure he is not a die-hard Powerade fan. Let's admit it. It's a Powerade bandwagon. The crowd darling Barangay Ginebra was sent fishing by the team they were up against to in the semis. The second crowd darling B-Meg was kicked to the balls and sent to hell by them. So as written in the constitution, Ginebra fans would root for Powerade and B-Meg fans would root for Rain-or-Shine, thus creating the bandwagon (I had to cut it here. Maybe I'll talk about the Powerade fans club as soon as... hmm... next conference?) and more James Martinez gay followers.

powerade just 4 wins away from being the national champion.
- I like it being called "The National Champion". This makes more sense than our judicial system, right?
Kent De Leon comment of PBAonAKTV Official Fanpage:
wag muna mag relax petron..dapat matalo niyo yang tnt ahehehehe
- I saw Game 5 and Game 6 live, and I have to agree. While Talk 'n Text playing desperate-mode-level-up type of game, Coach Ato Agustin was like Coach Ansai of Shohoku High School, except for the part where they happened to be on the wrong end of the bad calls specially in Game 5. If there's anything wrong with Petron's game that they could attribute to their loss, it's their cruise-control mode of play.
@sirjhaydelacruz "could-have-posted-it" on Twitter:
williams and ryan reyes playing??? desperate mode level 3!
- These guys have bad legs right now. Please be reminded.
@pbaconnect on Twitter:
lutz hits a triple plus a foul from fonacier. 4pt play completed. halftime: petron 57-51 talk n' text
- I declared on my last blog entry that Larry Fonacier has become a defensive liability. This happened to be evidence number 37. Whenever these kind of things happen, I could hear fans screaming and say "Thank you, Larry!"
@sirjhaydelacruz on Twitter:
hold on to your knickers!!!
- Patapos na yung laban. Dikit na dikit. Ano pa ba ang pwedeng gawin? Ilipat ang channel?
@sirjhaydelacruz on Twitter:
yun ang dinesign na play ni coach chot??? a 25-ft three pointer??? ang galing!
- Talk 'n Text up 92-91 with 43 seconds to play. Texters had the ball after their own timeout. For 22 seconds, Jason Castro has the ball and little (or no) off-ball movement is happening to the team. Castro decided to pass it to Jimmy with two ticks left on the shot clock. Jimmy was 25 to 30 feet away from the basket. He had to shoot. It was an airball. A fucking airball! Can you believe this is what the coaching staff came up with? If the Texters lost this game, I'll blast them with this one all the way until they come up a championship-winning play in a clincher for a title, which is hard to come by.
@sirjhaydelacruz "could-have-posted-it" on Twitter:
92-91 with 1.2 ticks left in the game. Petron has the ball, in-bounding in the backcourt, and no timeouts. If I was Coach Ato, I would have called an illegal timeout to draw a play out of that situation. I'll let the technical free throw go in that case, it would be a same one-possession game case anyway. Apparently, Coach Ato didn't do it, so I thought it wasn't legal anymore. Legal na illegal... hmmm...
Every Powerade and Talk 'n Text member could have posted it on Facebook or Twitter:
THANK YOU LORD!!!
- Palagi yan.
Sirjhay Dela Cruz on Facebook:
the drama and suspense that this damn PBA semis produced for two effin weeks is WAY, way better than the pinoy telenovelas on primetime... SHET!
- You got to agree with this. Otherwise, I'll let you explain to me a way a 5th grader would understand everything to know about the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act of the US Congress and Senate. Just those two.

Talk 'n Text and Powerade will face off in the Finals showdown.
- In case you forget it. Good day!
